My name is Philippe Gaona and I come from the Paris suburbs in France.
My parents are Latin American fashion designers. They passed on to me their joie de vivre and their passion for fashion. I’ve been living in Montreal for 7 years and feel very happy here. I’m the father of a little boy who has turned my life and my vision of the world upside down. He’s my first source of inspiration. In the midst of my confinement, I decided to set up my workshop based on a simple idea: to create hats with nothing, or very little. All my creations are handmade in Montreal, with care, from dormant stock or scraps found or donated by my community of artisan seamstresses.
