What began as a coping mechanism to gain emotional awareness and self-soothe, eventually became 1000joules – an R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and producer blending jazzy vocals with punchy raps about spirituality and queer love. Joules is dedicated to offering something back to their community as an Emerging Artist of the Canadian Musicians Co-operative and as an Executive Producer for La Boulangerie, a Montreal-based collective.n
