POP Montreal partners with hinter live to feature r&b artist Fernie performing on a frozen lake for a musical project that plants trees.

The new season of Hinter Live features epic performances on a frozen lake. The next episode is presented by a collaboration between POP Montreal and hinter live, highlighting the r&b artist Fernie.

Fernie, originally from Montreal, is inspired by artists such as Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar. His Brazilian-Canadian ethnicity shines through in his vulnerable lyrics and powerful melodies. As you discover his different captivating styles, there is a perfect combination to create a unique genre.

His music is inclusive and imbued with a subtle melancholy of the 90s. His unique and eclectic universe continues to develop after each project.

Watch it live this Thursday, April 28 at 6 p.m. (EST – Montreal time) on www.popmontreal.com.

This episode was recorded on the frozen lake Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes, between Hudson and OKA National Park, in Quebec. This project, which is halfway between live music and the environment, is also collecting funds for the non-profit organization One Tree Planted.

In 2021, Canadian company hinter live launched a reforestation campaign with One Tree Planted, aiming to replant 8,000 trees in BC forests by summer 2022, following losses from the fires. The project also contributes to FACTOR Canada’s Support Live Music Events program, which supports the arts and cultural industries after the impact of COVID-19.

“We are grateful for the support of hinter live, an organization that strives to have a positive impact on the environment across Canada. The trees we plant will create a lasting benefit for nature, biodiversity and habitat in British Columbia.” – Ashley Lamontagne, Campaign Manager.
