POP Montreal + SiriusXM Present The Discovery Series
POP Montreal and Sirius XM present the artists in the Sirius XM: Discovery Series 2021.
The Besnard Lakes:
The Besnard Lakes have passed through death and they’re here to tell the tale. Nearly five years after their last lightning-tinted volley, the magisterial Montreal psych-rock band have sworn off compromise, split with their long- standing label, and completed a searing, 72-minute suite about the darkness of dying and the light on the other side.
Vanille:
Founded in 2017, Vanille is the solo project of singer songwriter Rachel Leblanc. Her songs, drenched in suburban melancholy, tell a naïve tale of teenage reverie and sadness.
The Besnard Lakes + Vanille play La Sala Rossa on September 22nd at 9:30pm!
Laura Niquay:
Laura Niquay is a Quebec and Atikamekw artist who has made her mark on the musical landscape by singing in her native language: Atikamekw. This year, she reveals more than ever her indie-folk universe with a good touch of grunge, which highlights her sandy voice and her native heritage. Nicto Kicko is the first single from a forthcoming album, a sensitive and grandiose piece that will surely carve out a place for itself at the heart of the contemporary Quebec musical landscape.
Laura Niquay + Kae Sun + Claire Morrison play Théâtre Rialto on September 23 at 9:00pm!
Cadence Weapon:
Cadence Weapon is Toronto-based rapper, producer, writer and former Edmonton poet laureate Rollie Pemberton. His latest album Parallel World is on the short list for the 2021 Polar Noris Music Prize.
Marie-Pierre Arthur:
Marie-Pierre Arthur is the stage name of Marie-Pierre Fournier, a Canadian pop singer-songwriter from Quebec.
Marie-Pierre Arthur + Comment Debord play La Tulipe September 25th at 7:30pm!
