Kinji00, a new Quebec sensation and 17-year-old rapper from Gatineau, is nothing less than the CEO of Quebec’s independence project. Joining him is his brother, lb66, the producer behind their most recent mixtape, “À la suivante.” Together, they represent the rise of the “plug” music craze in Quebec hip-hop, along with several compatriots such as Monsi, Monzo & Trapmat Savior, to name a few. Born in Portugal, Kinji00 first became known on social media, racking up nearly 5 million views on TikTok, loudly chanting that “his favorite flower is the fleur-de-lis.”
