La Hache

La Hache is my printmaking practice ; a combination of my two professions, my six years of study, and a way to use and share my knowledge. Driven by a desire to produce authentic images that reflect the things I care about, I decided to leave home and look to the horizon. Through my travels, I constantly seek to see mountains, experience nature, and take less-traveled paths to discover the world around us, a world we often forget to see. I capture these moments through photography and translate these images of landscapes and buildings into linocuts. I print on a variety of materials to add extra dimensions to my work : printing on wood veneer, which allows the wood grain to become part of the artwork ; printing on recycled paper from old books, saving them from the trash ; and on handmade recycled paper, which adds a handcrafted touch.
