The Berta Boys
The Berta Boys are Montreal’s top Alberta-themed country band and cowboy DJs, known for their inventive, comedic spin on the cultural heritage of both Alberta and Quebec. Born and raised in Alberta but now based in Quebec, the trio has carved out a niche at the intersection of country music, performance art, and DJ culture. With reverence and absurdity in equal measure, they’ve won over line dancers, farmers, drag queens, former Olympians, and Boston Pizza.
Since their debut album Dans Les Prairies dropped on Alberta Day 2024, the Berta Boys have released a steady stream of boundary-pushing music. From radio stingers (Stingers Vol. 1), to ambient Western instrumentals (Alberta: OST), a Christmas rap (Oilfield Christmas), and most recently, their nü metal truck banger Trucksickoman, they continue to defy genre expectations. Their upcoming EP, The Trucky P, promises to go even further.
As DJs, they’ve held a two-year residency at Spaghetti Western and have played stages across Quebec alongside artists like Matt Lang, Marilyne Léonard, and the Nora Kelly Band. They also organize the Montreal Stampede, a multidisciplinary spectacle that fuses music with dance, theatre, comedy, and feats of strength. The Berta Boys are proudly sponsored by BioSteel.
