Led by Anishinaabe musician Tashiina Buswa, Ribbon Skirt is a local band with a captivating live show. They have played festivals across Canada and the United States including SXSW, New Colossus, Sled Island, Sappyfest, Flourish, and POP Montreal. They have shared stages with Dehd, Ombiigizi, Packs, Chad VanGaalen and Enumclaw. Join the artists in a talk exploring how their Polaris Music Prize Short-Listed debut album, Bite Down brings a darker and more introspective sound. The album deals with themes of memory, grief, and Buswa’s connection to her Indigenous identity and cultural practices.
