Kids POP releases its 2023 programming!

Kids Pop unveils its program of activities during the festival on Sunday, October 1, from 13h to 16h!

First there will be the POP’s bookfair for tiny dreamers and trouble-makers, an off-brand Scholastic’s book fair for and by kids, and it’s free !

From 13h, come to Maktaba Bookshop’s reading nook for their Children Are The Future pop-up. Expect cozy vibes and a curated selection of books to browse. Make time to join them for a reading of “Shams” with the author and founder of Maktaba Bookshop, Sundus Abdul Hadi. At the fair expect books by local vendors and small presses; including Édition Dent-de-Lion, Magazine Grilled Cheese and Monsieur Ed.

There will be a zine workshop running throughout the event to make your very own books to showcase. Les Biblios du Plateau will also have a booth to sign up for a library card and to borrow books on the spot!

14h — Grand Chief Salamoo Cook is Coming to Town! (Rialto Theatre)

Once upon a magical time, a rabbit named Weeskits hurried home to Kisoos—a town known as the Earth’s belly button—to deliver some thrilling news: Grand Chief Salamoo Cook Is Coming to Town! Join acclaimed author Tomson Highway alongside vocalists Moe Clark, Coral Egan, Marie-Christine Depestre, Elie Haroun, and a full band for a performance of Highway’s laugh-out-loud riot of a tale. Featuring nine jazzy songs performed in Cree and narration by Todd Houseman.

This event is $5 for those under 16 and $10 for those over 16*, and is co-presented by La Montagne Secrète.
